About

Welcome to my online gallery Stonesthrow Lancelin. 90km north of Perth, my pathway to the beach is a few steps through a tunnel of native Melaleuca trees, beach Spinifex and Maram grasses. Then a jump down onto the soft white sand of Lancelin Bay. This path is like a portal, crossing a threshold into the world of wave watching, sand sitting, and wind tangled hair. A world of observational contemplation. What colour is a shadow?

It’s where I draw my inspiration to paint the world that lies within a stonestrow of the Indian oceans edge.

Along with my coastal observations, I am concurrently working on my Towels Series. A brightly threaded towel, part of the Australian beach goers uniform, is the inspiration for this series that expresses in detail; Contour and Texture with optimistic colour.
